Two Years Since the Return to Chomesh

“Chomesh First,” a movement to resettle the northern Samarian community of Chomesh, has celebrated two years of an unbroken Jewish presence at the site of the yishuv, which was uprooted during the Disengagement four years ago. Apart from Gush Katif, four communities in northern Samaria were also dismantled in 2005 as part of the Disengagement. The ruins of Chomesh and Sa-Nur, another of these communities are still under Israeli control. Resettlement is therefore not beyond the bounds of possibility.
