Gush Katif New Homes Still Not Ready

The government has approved more free housing for Gush Katif expellees still living in temporary accommodation and has also allotted more funding for educational needs. At the same time, former MK Amira Dotan has testified at the committee examining the handling of the expellees’ situation, describing its mismanagement.

Cabinet Extends Eligibility for Temporary Housing

With 90 percent of Gush Katif families not yet in permament housing since their expulsion from their homes in 2005, the Cabinet has approved a proposal to extend their eligibility for temporary homes.

Appeal Against New Town for Expellees Rejected

Ynet reports that an appeal, launched by SPNI, the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, against the construction of a new town for former Gush Katif residents, has been rejected.
