Half of Families in Nitzan Under Welfare Care

The situation of the former residents of Gush Katif looks even more bleak. Four years after the Disengagement, half of the families in Nitzan, where many of the expellees live, are receiving assistance from the Welfare Ministry. And many more may need it but are too embarrassed to ask for help.

Maozia Segal, head of the Ashkelon Beach’s Welfare Department, gives some staggering statistics in a report in The Jerusalem Post.
