The Cost of Disengagement

At the State Inquiry Commission into the situation of the expellees from Gush Katif, SELA head Tzvia Shimon painted a compassionate picture of an organization with limited resources that tried to help as far as it could. But representatives of the Committee of Gush Katif Residents told a very different story – of unemployment and many families who had to use their compensation money to live rather than to rebuild their homes, and an ongoing story of frustration and hardship.
