The suffering of the former residents of Gush Katif has reached the Russian press, which is not usually known for its pro-Israel views. RT, the website of Russia Today, speaks to expellees and hears what they have to say about their current situation and the Gush Katif Museum in Jerusalem.

The Ynet website reports that the recent commission of inquiry into the Disengagement places the blame for the delay in rehabilitation of the evacuees upon the expellees themselves and local councils. The state should rectify the situation by the end of this year.

In a meeting in Eli and Haresha, where homes are slated to be demolished, Minister Limor Livnat apologized to a former resident of Neve Dekalim for the disengagement.

Arutz Sheva reports that new housing has been approved for the former residents of Kfar Darom in Gush Katif. The housing will be near Nir Akiva, a small farming community not far from Netivot. Meanwhile, Hagit Yaron of the Gush Katif Residents Association, has stated that current circumstances mean that many expellees may spend the rest of their lives in caravans.

Haaretz reports that Maj. Gen. (res.) Giora Eiland told the current committee investigating the Gush Katif Disengagement that the state is incapable of taking politically controversial steps. Even though Eiland was himself very much involved in the Disengagement, he came to this conclusion as a result of the events surrounding the expulsion.
